POWERGRIP Battery Hydrometer-PGBH-102
The POWERGRIP PGBH-102 Battery Hydrometer is a durable and precise measuring tool designed to check the specific gravity of electrolyte in lead-acid batteries. This easy-to-use hydrometer provides an accurate reading of battery charge conditions, helping determine whether a battery is fully charged, partially discharged, or requires maintenance. Constructed from high-quality ABS plastic, it ensures excellent chemical resistance and long-term reliability.
Featuring a clear measurement float scale, the PGBH-102 allows quick visual readings of electrolyte density, making it indispensable for technicians in battery maintenance, automotive workshops, and inverter service stations. With its lightweight 12-inch design, ergonomic suction bulb, and sturdy pipette tube, it ensures consistent and repeatable measurements every time.

Specification Details Brand Powergrip Model PGBH-102 Material ABS Plastic Length 12 Inches Color White and Black Measurement Range 1.100 – 1.300 (Specific Gravity) Application Battery electrolyte testing Type Handheld bulb-type hydrometer Usage Instruction:
-
Squeeze the Bulb:
Firmly squeeze the rubber bulb at the top of the hydrometer.
-
Insert the Tube:
Place the flexible tube carefully into the battery’s electrolyte solution through the hole on top of the battery cell.
-
Draw Electrolyte:
Slowly release the bulb, allowing the battery fluid (electrolyte) to rise up into the clear cylinder.
-
Check the Float:
Ensure the float inside the clear cylinder has risen and is moving freely in the solution.
-
Ensure Proper Orientation:
Hold the hydrometer vertically. The float should be floating in the middle of the cylinder, not touching the sides. The top of the fluid should fall into a colored section (green, white, or red) on the float scale. If it doesn’t, remove or add some electrolyte until it’s in range.
-
Read the Result:
Note the color on the float at the point where it meets the surface of the electrolyte, or read the exact number if specific gravity values are given.
- Reading Interpretation :
Green: Battery is OK
White: Battery may need attention
Red: Battery is low/discharged -
Return the Fluid:
Squeeze the bulb to empty the drawn electrolyte back into the battery cell.
